Agree. Makes no sense for FB to do this. So if I say that I like Pepsi, just because i do, are they going to ban me. That's why i don't like walled-gardens controlled by corporations. The whole point of the internet strikes me as being about decentralization and ownership by the community. And now we're going back to the old Compuserve/AOL days. Weird.

I beg to differ when people slam auto workers for being "grossly"over paid. The last plumber I hired charged $75 per hour and he didn't have to deal with the dirty end of the job. Just a small tearout and a little rough plumbing requiring 4 feet of PVC and two compression fittings. After getting the bill I decided I would learn plumbing. And for those of you who don't like the price of a new car just build your own and pay yourself. Now thats capitalism! On the other hand you can buy a Jap car made here instead. But be forewarned, if the Big 3 go out of business the Japs will have a monopoly and charge the buyer whatever they want. Your only other option will be to buy Euro cars priced in Euros with your depreciated greenbacks.
Better not throw your wheel barrow out because you will need it to haul the devalued dollars. Its funny, one of the major industries that built this country, was a major component in winning WW II, and provided the middle class boom of the 50-70s, is now being kicked to the side of the road. Maybe they and the unions deserve this. Seeing the CEOs with their hands out for money and the UAW telling the committee it would be a mistake not to bail them out doesn't sit well with me. Only because the companies and the union haven't taken the time to sit down and try to resolve the issue themselves. If it is just a matter of cashflow, who has the greatest control of that? The companies and the UAW. Charity begins at home and it should begin with them first before running to Congress. And this is from a UAW retiree. Surprise, surprise! I also believe Wall Street should not be bailed out. What's good for one is good for all, but it sure as hell won't feel good. Where's Lee Ioccoca and Dr. Deming when you need them?
